The Marriage In Lysekil
Uncle Gianni performs what can only be described as a controlled crash-landing: he pivots through the nearest pew door, deposits both twins in a single decisive sweep, and wedges himself in beside them so that Aurora is pressed against the armrest and Flavio is pressed against Gianni, and neither can go anywhere without climbing over a mountain of charcoal wool. It works. For approximately four seconds. Then Aurora discovers that the pew ahead contains the enormous hat she has been admiring, and reaches out to conduct a small personal investigation of its silk roses. Flavio, meanwhile, resumes conducting operations with Luca's boutonnière from his new seated position — wrist flicking, expression serene. Luca, two pews back, adjusts his bow tie with the quiet deliberation of someone composing a formal grievance. Birgitta's prelude swells magnificently through the stone arches. Uncle Gianni stretches one arm across two sets of small knees and perspires with great dignity.
